Czech Open 2011

Czech Open 2011

Thurday 7th April 2011
2 days prior to the tournament, the day started at 10am for most as they departed South Wales for Bristol Airport. The team gradually arrived at Bristol Airport between 11am and 12pm.

Part of the team at Bristol Airport.

Once all 26 people had arrived, we checked in for our 2.15pm Easyjet flight to Prague, passed through security (with Andy and Steve getting a personal pat-down from the kind security staff) and found a spot in the departure lounge for everyone to sit together. Our flight departed on-time with the whole group managing to get seats together and with a flight time of just under 2 hours, we arrived in Prague at just after 5pm (Czech time).

Welcome to Taekwon-do Wales Rogerstone

Taekwon-do Wales is one of the largest Taekwon-do clubs in Wales, with classes in Rogerstone, Fleur-de-Lis, Oakdale and Caerphilly. We operate a completely open-door policy, welcoming students of any age and from any walk of life. Anyone can benefit from what Taekwon-do has to offer, not just the young in peak physical fitness, but anyone with a desire to learn and a willingness to live by it tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.

Taekwon-do differs greatly from other martial arts, in that no other artial art is so advanced with regard to the sophistication and effectiveness of its technique through the application of sound scientific principles. Literally translated, “Tae” means to kick or smash with the foot. “Kwon” denotes the fist, chiefly to punch or destroy with the hand or fist, while “Do” means an art or way. Thus taken collectively Taekwon-do indicates the mental and physical training in the techniques of unarmed combat for self-defence as well as health, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks and dodges with bare hands and feet to the rapid destruction of the moving opponent or opponents.
